Folding Dome: A private observatory, which can be easily mounted and removed when needed.
Telescopes for serious amateurs are often big and heavy. Wouldn´t be it convenient if you could just let your equipment positioned ready for use until you need it next observation day? The PrimaLuceLab Folding Dome is the optimum solution. Its easily to set up like a observatory tent, but it provides significantly more protection and offers more space as the tent. Set up time is only approximately two hours. Too, the degradation is so quick.
The Folding Dome is waterproof and weatherproof. The manufacturer tested at a wind speed of 80 km/h. In a temperature range from -10°C to 40°C its full functionally. The only problem are snow loads, for this the Folding Enclosure Shell is not designed.
The Folding Dome consists of a nylon dome that rests on a ring of 4 mm thick Plexiglas. The Plexiglas Ring is supported by 14 metal braces that can be anchored to the ground. Ideal is a foundation of concrete or wood.
The Folding Enclosure Shell was developed for the radio telescope Spider 230, but it is very interesting for observers in the optical range!
