The ZWO FF80 APO is a quadruplet air-spaced apochromatic refractor with two pieces of ED glass that can effectively reduce chromatic aberration and enhance clarity and sharpness. It has an aperture of 80mm, a focal ratio of f/7.5, and a focal length of 600mm. It supports the full-frame imaging circle and has a fine spot diagram with small and round stars and tiny distortions of the peripheral stars.
The ZWO FF80 APO has a self-flattening design, which means that you don’t need to worry about calculating the back focus distance of the flattener and any possible accessories you need. As long as the target is focused, the whole optical system is perfect for imaging. This makes the whole setting up process much more convenient and saves your time, allowing you to pay more attention to the image shooting itself.
The ZWO FF80 APO also comes with a 3″ rigid focuser with a new type of 360 degree rotator with scales and a finder base. The focuser has a dual speed (1:10) mechanism that supports both fine and coarse adjustment. The telescope also comes with various adapters, such as M76/M68/M54/M48, to fit different cameras and accessories.
The ZWO FF80 APO is not only a great choice for astrophotography, but also for visual observation. It fits diagonals as well as various eyepieces and can achieve a perfect focus. You can even use it to observe planets with a super high magnification eyepiece. The whole design of the telescope is compact and lightweight. The OTA weighs only 3.9kg, and the full package with tube rings and other accessories weighs 4.7kg.
