Description

The MAGUS Metal 600 Metallurgical Microscope is expertly designed for analyzing opaque samples such as metals, alloys, paint coatings, and semiconductors using brightfield and polarization microscopy techniques. It also facilitates the examination of microstructures on flat and polished samples. With its transmitted light illuminator, you can study particles trapped on filters and translucent materials like thin films. This microscope is ideal for research and analysis in fields including geology, metallurgy, engineering, archaeology, and various scientific disciplines.

Optics

The MAGUS Metal 600 features a trinocular head with a trinocular tube for camera mounting (camera not included). The light beam can be directed either to the digital camera or the eyepiece tube with a 100:0 or 0:100 split. The 30° inclined trinocular head provides comfort during long observation sessions and includes a diopter adjustment ring on the left tube.

With a magnification range from 50x to 600x in its basic configuration, this microscope can increase its upper magnification limit with additional eyepieces. The internal-facing revolving nosepiece can hold up to five objectives simultaneously, with four plan achromatic objectives included in the kit and one free slot for an additional objective. These objectives are designed with a long working distance, ideal for brightfield microscopy.

Illumination

The microscope is equipped with both transmitted and reflected light illumination systems, each using 30W halogen bulbs with adjustable brightness powered by an AC power supply. These halogen bulbs emit light at a color temperature conducive to comfortable work conditions.

Polarization devices are integrated into the reflected light system, including a built-in analyzer and a removable polarizer. Aperture and field diaphragms enable Köhler illumination, and color filters are included. Both the apertures and the reflected light source can be centered.

For transmitted light illumination, the microscope employs a traditional Abbe condenser that can be centered and adjusted in height, complemented by a flip-up lens for low magnification objectives. Aperture and field diaphragms also support the Köhler illumination method.

Stage and Focusing Mechanism

The microscope accommodates specimens up to 20mm in height on its stage, which can be moved along two axes. A glass plate is provided for working with opaque specimens. The coarse and fine focusing mechanisms ensure smooth and precise focus adjustments, with a lock knob and tension adjustment for coarse focusing. The coaxial positioning of the focusing knobs on both sides allows for comfortable handling without the need to hold your hands in the air.

Accessories

The MAGUS Metal 600 microscope can be upgraded with additional eyepieces, long working distance objectives, digital cameras, and calibration slides to enhance its performance and versatility.
