Description
ZWO 1.25″ Narrowband Filter Set – OIII, Ha, SII
The ZWO 1.25” SHO Filter Set includes three 1.25” mounted astrophotography filters that pass light in a narrow 7nm band from ionized sulfur (SII) at 672nm, Hydrogen Alpha (at 656nm), and ionized oxygen (OIII) near 500nm. By taking individual images with each of these filters and a monochrome astronomy camera (sold separately) and combining the images with standard processing techniques, you can create high-contrast images of emission nebulae (like the Orion, Lagoon, and Eagle Nebulae), planetary nebulae (such as the Ring, Dumbbell and Helix Nebulae), and supernova remnants such as the Veil Nebula.
Here are the key features of the ZWO 1.25″ Ha SII OIII 7nm Narrowband Filter Set:
Narrowband Filters:
- Three filters included: H-alpha (Ha), Sulfur II (SII), and Oxygen III (OIII).
- Narrow bandwidth: Each filter passes a specific wavelength of light, isolating emission lines from nebulae.
- 7nm bandwidth: This narrow bandwidth helps to reduce light pollution and improve contrast.
Image Enhancement:
- Increased contrast: Filters block most unwanted light, allowing nebulae to stand out against the background sky.
- Improved detail: Filters reveal fine details within nebulae that are often obscured by light pollution or other factors.
- Enhanced color: By combining images from the three filters, you can create stunning, color-rich images of nebulae.
Technical Specifications:
- Filter size: 1.25 inches
- FWHM: 7±0.5nm
- Thickness: 2.0±0.03 mm
- Transmission: Approximately 90% at selected wavelengths
- Infrared wavelength cut-off: 700-1100nm
- Off-band transmission: <0.1% (OD3)
