MAGUS Pol D800 Polarizing Digital Microscope

Description

The MAGUS Pol D800 Polarizing Microscope is a versatile tool designed for studying anisotropic objects in both polarized and ordinary transmitted light. This microscope is ideal for examining biological, geological, and polymer samples. Its strain-free optics prevent parasitic refractions, providing clear, high-contrast, and authentic images. The MAGUS Pol 800 is widely used in various scientific fields, including medicine, forensics, mineralogy, petrography, and crystallography.

Digital Camera

The MAGUS CBF70 Professional Scientific Camera is designed to enhance your microscopy experience with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives. It allows you to capture photographs, shoot videos, organize demonstrations, display images on an external screen, and perform angular and linear measurements with calibrated software. Ideal for brightfield microscopy, the camera offers five image resolution and frame rate modes:

  • 5280x3954px (17fps)
  • 3952x3952px (17fps)
  • 2640x1976px (56fps)
  • 1760x1316px (67fps)
  • 584x438px (192fps)

These high-resolution modes are perfect for creating detailed images, while high frame rate modes ensure smooth video recording. The camera features a SONY Exmor 4/3” color backlit CMOS sensor, delivering bright images even in low light conditions. The larger sensor size enhances color depth and clarity.

Optics

The microscope’s trinocular head includes a trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera. The light path can be fully directed to the eyepiece tubes or the digital camera using a body switch. The eyepiece tubes are angled at 30° for comfortable long-term observation, with a diopter adjustment ring on the left tube to adapt the optics to individual vision needs.

The revolving nosepiece can hold up to five objectives, with four included in the package. Designed for 0.17mm thick cover slips, the objectives provide high magnification and clarity. The “away from the observer” design makes the active objective easily visible, enhancing user convenience. The nosepiece slots are precisely centered.

Illumination

Illumination is provided by a 30W halogen bulb located under the object stage, suitable for all objectives. The Köhler method enhances image contrast and quality by adjusting illumination. The microscope includes a polarizer and analyzer for polarized light work, with adjustable polarization angles. An intermediate attachment with a Bertrand lens and a compensator slot enhances the contrast of low birefringence samples and supports conoscopic studies.

Stage and Focusing Mechanism

The rotating microscope stage allows quick changes in light refraction during polarized light work. It is centered relative to the optical axis and features rotation angle gradation and a scale for precise angle determination. The focusing mechanism includes coarse and fine adjustments, with a coarse focusing lock and tension adjustment for user comfort.

Accessories

The MAGUS Pol 800 supports various optional accessories, including eyepieces, objectives, digital cameras, and calibration slides, expanding its research capabilities.
