Description
The MAGUS Bio 250TL microscope is designed for the detailed study of thin sections and smears of biological samples using brightfield microscopy in transmitted light. This professional microscope features a 3-watt LED light source and high-quality infinity plan achromatic objectives. It is compatible with various accessories, including darkfield, polarization, and phase contrast devices, making it an excellent choice for laboratory analysis, research, and educational purposes.
Optics
The trinocular head includes two eyepiece tubes for direct observation and a vertical tube for mounting a digital camera (not included). The eyepiece tubes are inclined at 30° for comfortable long-duration use and can be rotated 360° to accommodate the observer’s height. A diopter adjustment ring is located on the left tube for precise focusing.
The microscope comes with a 5-slot revolving nosepiece, allowing for the installation of four included objectives and one additional objective for increased magnification range. The nosepiece is oriented towards the interior, keeping the space above the stage clear and making it easy to see the inserted objective during observation. The magnification range in the basic configuration is from 40x to 1000x, which can be further increased with additional objectives.
Illumination
The microscope’s illumination system features bottom-mounted LEDs that provide bright and even lighting with consistent color temperature, regardless of brightness adjustments. The 3W LED light source has an impressive operating life of 50,000 hours and is powered by an AC power supply.
The Abbe condenser is centered and height-adjustable, and the aperture and field diaphragms can be adjusted to set up Köhler illumination. A special slot in the condenser allows for the use of darkfield and phase contrast sliders, enabling quick switching between different research techniques.
Stage and Focusing Mechanism
The stage design eliminates the positioning rack, reducing desktop space usage and avoiding any disturbance during observations. A removable mechanical attachment allows for precise sample movement and is beneficial for manual scanning.
Both coarse and fine focusing mechanisms are available for accurate focus adjustments. The focusing knobs are located on both sides of the microscope, closer to the base, allowing the user to rest their hands on the table for comfort during extended use. The coarse focusing mechanism includes a lock knob and tension adjustment for smooth and effortless focusing.
Accessories
The capabilities of the MAGUS Bio 250TL microscope can be further enhanced with a wide range of optional accessories, including eyepieces, objectives, calibration slides, digital cameras, and devices for darkfield, polarization, and phase contrast techniques.
