Description

MAGUS Bio VD350 LCD Biological Inverted Digital Microscope

Description

The MAGUS Bio VD350 LCD is a high-performance biological inverted microscope designed for studying stained and unstained samples in laboratory ware such as Petri dishes, flasks, and plates. It accommodates dishes up to 55mm high, and up to 165mm when the illuminator stand is tilted. The compatible ware’s bottom thickness can be up to 1.2mm. This microscope utilizes brightfield and phase-contrast microscopy techniques with transmitted light. It features a trinocular tube/side port for mounting a digital camera and monitor, making it ideal for routine laboratory and research work, as well as educational purposes.

Digital Camera

The MAGUS CHD30 digital camera is equipped with a 2MP sensor, delivering realistic Full HD images at a resolution of 1920x1080px. It features high light sensitivity and an auto focus function, suitable for fluorescent observations. The camera connects directly to a TV, monitor, or projector via HDMI, operating autonomously without a PC connection. This interface ensures a high and stable transfer rate to the external screen. It can also connect to a PC via Wi-Fi. Video recording is at 60fps or 25fps depending on the interface, ensuring vivid videos with no freezes or gaps between frames. The high FPS and high bandwidth HDMI provide detailed images and smooth object movement.

Monitor

MAGUS MCD monitors, in combination with MAGUS CHD cameras, form a complete imaging system for MAGUS microscopes. Connected via HDMI, the monitor displays real-time images on its 13.3” IPS LCD screen, which offers a wide viewing angle, high brightness, and excellent contrast. The image remains undistorted even when viewed from a large angle. The monitor can be placed on a horizontal surface using a folding stand or mounted directly on a camera or tripod.

Optics

The microscope features a 180° rotatable trinocular head to adjust the exit pupil height. The vertical tube is used to mount the monitor, and the side port mounts the digital camera. Beam splitting options include 100/0, 0/100, and 50/50. The set includes four infinity plan achromatic objectives, one of which is a phase objective. With four objectives installed, one slot remains free for an additional objective.

Illumination

The phase-contrast condenser allows easy switching between microscopy techniques, with four positions: a free aperture for brightfield and 10x, 20x, and 40x apertures for phase contrast. The transmitted light source is a 30W halogen bulb, providing adjustable brightness and AC power. The system supports Köhler illumination for enhanced image quality.

Stage and Focusing Mechanism

The stage includes four dish holders, movable along the X and Y axes using a mechanical attachment, while the stage itself remains stationary. The holders accommodate labware of various sizes. The focusing mechanism operates smoothly, with coarse focusing featuring a lock knob and tension adjustment. The fine focusing scale value is 2μm. Knobs are located at the base of the microscope for a more relaxed working position.

Accessories

A wide range of additional eyepieces, phase objectives, digital cameras, and calibration slides are available to maximize the microscope’s capabilities.
