Description
MAGUS Bio V350 Biological Inverted Microscope
Advanced Laboratory Analysis
Overview
The MAGUS Bio V350 Biological Inverted Microscope is designed for studying both stained and unstained samples in various laboratory ware, including Petri dishes, flasks, and plates. This versatile microscope accommodates dishes up to 55mm high, and with the illuminator stand tilted, it can handle dishes up to 165mm high. The bottom thickness of compatible ware can be up to 1.2mm. Ideal for routine laboratory work, research, and teaching, the MAGUS Bio V350 utilizes brightfield and phase contrast microscopy techniques in transmitted light. It features a trinocular tube/side port camera for mounting digital cameras and monitors.
Optics
The trinocular head of the microscope can be rotated 180° to adjust the height of the exit pupil. The vertical tube is used for mounting the monitor, while the side port on the microscope body is used for mounting a digital camera. The beam splitting on the body is 100/0 or 0/100, and on the trinocular tube, it is 50/50 (when open) or 100/0 (when closed). The microscope comes with four infinity plan achromatic objectives, including one phase objective. With these installed in the revolving nosepiece, there is one slot left for an additional objective.
Illumination
The phase-contrast condenser allows for easy switching between microscopy techniques and has four working positions: a free aperture for brightfield and 10x, 20x, and 40x apertures for phase contrast. The 30W halogen bulb provides a transmitted light source with adjustable brightness and a color temperature that is comfortable for work. The Köhler illumination system enhances image quality.
Stage and Focusing Mechanism
The microscope includes four dish holders for the stage, which can be moved along the X and Y axes using a mechanical attachment while the stage remains stationary. The focusing mechanism operates smoothly, with a coarse focusing lock knob and tension adjustment. The fine focusing scale value is 2μm, and the knobs are positioned at the base of the microscope for comfortable hand placement.
Accessories
The MAGUS Bio V350 can be further enhanced with additional eyepieces, phase objectives, digital cameras, and calibration slides, maximizing its capabilities for a wide range of scientific tasks.
