Description
MAGUS Bio D250TL Biological Digital Microscope and Camera
Description
The MAGUS Bio D250TL microscope is designed for detailed studies of thin sections and smears of biological samples using the brightfield microscopy technique in transmitted light. Featuring a 3-watt LED light source and infinity plan achromatic objectives, this microscope supports a variety of additional accessories, including darkfield, polarization, and phase contrast devices. This makes it an ideal choice for laboratory analysis, research, and teaching applications.
Digital Camera
The MAGUS Bio D250TL microscope comes with a full-color camera equipped with a SONY Exmor 2.1MP digital CMOS sensor. This back-illumination technology enhances matrix sensitivity (8935mV at 1/30s) and reduces light scattering, producing bright and clear images even in low light conditions. Suitable for both darkfield and brightfield microscopy, the camera supports objectives with magnifications of 40x, 60x, and 100x.
The camera can be mounted in two ways: via a C-mount adapter in the trinocular tube or by using an adapter and rings in place of the eyepiece. For optimal performance and the widest field of view without distortion, use an adapter with a magnification between 0.6x and 0.9x. The camera connects to a computer via a USB3.0 port, ensuring a high data transfer speed of 5Gbps.
Optics
The microscope features a trinocular head with two eyepiece tubes for direct observations and a vertical tube for digital camera mounting (camera not included). The tubes are 30° inclined for ergonomic use and can rotate 360° to adjust to the observer’s height. A diopter adjustment ring is located on the left tube.
The revolving nosepiece has five slots for objectives – four are included, and one slot is free for an additional objective. The revolving nosepiece is oriented toward the interior, providing a clear view of the stage and maintaining a clean workspace above the stage. The magnification range spans from 40x to 1000x, extendable with additional objectives.
Illumination
The microscope’s illumination system features 3W LEDs mounted at the bottom, delivering bright and even light with a consistent color temperature across all brightness levels. The LEDs have a lifespan of approximately 50,000 hours and are powered by an AC power supply.
The Köhler illumination setup is achievable by adjusting the Abbe condenser and manipulating the aperture and field diaphragms. The condenser includes a slot for darkfield and phase contrast sliders, allowing for quick and easy technique changes.
Stage and Focusing Mechanism
The stage design eliminates the need for a positioning rack, creating an unobstructed workspace and reducing the microscope’s desktop footprint. The stage’s mechanical attachment, which moves samples smoothly, is also removable for manual scanning.
Coarse and fine focusing adjustments are available, with knobs positioned on both sides near the base, allowing for comfortable hand placement during extended use. The coarse focusing mechanism includes a lock knob and tension adjustment, ensuring smooth and precise focus control.
