Description
The MAGUS Bio 230T is a high-performance trinocular microscope designed for laboratory and research applications in fields such as medicine, pharmaceuticals, forensics, and biotechnology. Ideal for observing flat biological specimens, such as thin sections and smears, this microscope utilizes brightfield transmitted light microscopy. Equipped with achromatic objectives and a halogen bulb, it also supports additional accessories for darkfield, phase contrast, and polarized light microscopy.
Optics
The trinocular head features a vertical tube for mounting a digital camera, making it easy to create digital archives and display images on an external monitor. The observation tubes rotate 360° to adjust to the user’s height, and the left tube includes a diopter adjustment ring for precise focusing.
The revolving nosepiece can hold up to five objectives, with four included in the kit and an additional slot available. Infinity-corrected objectives provide magnifications ranging from 40x to 1000x, and optional eyepieces can extend this range to 1500x, 1600x, or 2000x.
Illumination
The 30W halogen bulb provides warm-spectrum lighting, reducing eye strain and ensuring high brightness and contrast for extended use. The height-adjustable and centerable Abbe condenser includes an iris and field diaphragm for Köhler illumination, enhancing image clarity. Slots for phase and darkfield sliders enable quick transitions between different microscopy techniques.
Stage and Focusing Mechanism
The mechanical stage lacks a positioning rack, simplifying operation and allowing smooth specimen movement. The removable mechanical attachment facilitates manual scanning. Coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs, featuring a lock knob and tension adjustment, are ergonomically positioned at the base for comfortable, prolonged observation sessions.
