Description
The MAGUS Bio 230BL Biological Microscope is a high-performance binocular microscope designed for observing biological samples such as smears and thin sections using transmitted light microscopy (brightfield). Equipped with achromatic objectives and LED illumination, this microscope is ideal for applications in pharmaceuticals, medicine, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, forensics, and agriculture. Optional accessories enable darkfield, polarized light, and phase contrast techniques.
Optics
The MAGUS Bio 230BL features 360° rotating observational tubes, allowing easy adjustment of the eyepieces to fit the observer’s height. The left tube includes a diopter adjustment ring, and it can accommodate a digital camera (sold separately).
The revolving nosepiece has 5 slots, accommodating additional objectives for higher magnification. The standard magnification range is 40 to 1000x, extendable to 1500x, 1600x, or 2000x with additional eyepieces. The infinity-corrected optics and interior-oriented revolving nosepiece ensure precise and clear observations.
Illumination
The 3W LED light source, powered by an AC supply, provides consistent illumination with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. Adjusting the illumination brightness maintains a stable color temperature. The microscope features an adjustable Abbe condenser with a slot for darkfield or phase contrast sliders, facilitating easy switching between microscopy techniques. The field diaphragm enables Köhler illumination setup for enhanced image clarity.
Stage and Focusing Mechanism
The stage features a removable mechanical attachment for smooth specimen movement and space-efficient design without a positioning rack. Coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs on both sides of the microscope base allow for comfortable and precise adjustments. The coarse focusing mechanism includes a lock knob and tension adjustment, ensuring smooth and effortless operation.
