High-quality Optics
Celestron CGEM II 1100 EdgeHD Telescope features the EdgeHD optical system, which is an aplanatic, flat-field Schmidt-Cassegrain design that produces aberration-free images across a wide field of view. The EdgeHD optics also provide an astrograph-quality flat focal plane, which is ideal for capturing sharp and detailed images with a digital camera. The EdgeHD optics are coated with Celestron’s StarBright XLT coatings, which maximize light transmission and contrast.
CGEM II Computerized Equatorial Mount
This telescope comes with the CGEM II computerized equatorial mount, which is designed to handle the weight and size of the 11-inch optical tube with ease. The CGEM II mount has a payload capacity of 40 lbs and can track objects accurately and smoothly across the sky. The mount also features a dual-style saddle plate, which can accommodate both CGE and CG-5 dovetail bars. The mount is controlled by a NexStar+ hand controller, which has a database of over 40,000 objects and can align the telescope with a simple SkyAlign procedure. The mount also has a USB 2.0 port, a permanent periodic error correction function, and an autoguider port.
Accessories
Celestron CGEM II 1100 EdgeHD Telescope also includes a 9x50 finderscope, a 2-inch mirror diagonal, and a 23 mm Luminos 2-inch eyepiece. These accessories enhance the viewing experience and comfort of the telescope. The telescope also comes with a tripod, a counterweight, a power cable, and a software CD.
