Compact and Lightweight Design

Despite its compact form, the ZWO CAA delivers exceptional stability and performance. At only 16.5 mm thickness, it replaces the standard ZWO adapter. Weighing just 465 g, it adds minimal bulk to your imaging setup.

High Efficiency

Equipped with a high-efficiency stepper motor, the CAA enables smooth, precise operation and exact positioning at the desired angle. Its robust internal structure ensures zero deformation throughout a full 360° rotation, providing stable and consistent performance.

High Positioning Accuracy: 0.02°/step

The ZWO CAA adjusts the camera angle with remarkable precision, offering 0.02° per step. The overall positioning error is guaranteed to remain below 0.1°, ensuring perfect framing every time.

High Rigidity and High Load Capacity: >15 cNm*

Engineered with rigidity and durability in mind, the ZWO CAA withstands torques greater than 15 cNm, maintaining both accuracy and structural stability under heavy loads.
*Tested by ZWO laboratories: stable operation was achieved with an ASI461 camera + 7x50 EFW + 1 kg load (total load ≥ 4 kg).

High Speed: 7.5°/s

With a rotation speed of up to 7.5° per second, the ZWO CAA minimizes downtime, allowing you to adjust composition quickly between exposures.

Multi-Compatibility

The CAA is compatible with a wide variety of telescope systems and integrates seamlessly with popular imaging software including ASIAIR, ASIStudio, and ASCOM. For greater flexibility, it can also be manually controlled using a compatible hand controller*.

Easy Cable Management

Designed for simplicity, the ZWO CAA requires only one Type-C cable for both power and data. This reduces clutter and makes cable management far easier during imaging sessions.

Product Details

• Type-C interface: One connection for both power and data transfer.
• HC interface: Allows connection to a hand controller.
• Locking slot: Insert a standard hex wrench into the pinhole to lock rotation, making it easy to remove jammed adapters or accessories.

Connection

1. When paired with ZWO FF series refractors (with or without reducer), you can use the supplied M48 standard adapters along with your ZWO camera. Simply replace the 16.5 mm adapter with the CAA.
2. For Duo or 2600AIR cameras, if you need M54 threading, an optional adapter is available separately.
3. Maintains the standard 55 mm back focus distance required for astrophotography setups.
