New-Generation Motorized Filter Wheel for 36mm unmounted filters
The ZWO EFW-7×36-25 is the latest evolution of ZWO’s electronic filter wheel lineup, engineered to deliver cleaner images, smoother operation, and enhanced reliability for deep-sky astrophotography. Built around a newly developed 25 mm sealed chassis, this generation focuses on minimizing stray light, improving mechanical rigidity, and simplifying connectivity for modern imaging setups.
Precision CNC Construction
Machined from a CNC aluminum alloy body, the filter wheel remains lightweight while offering excellent structural stability. Inside, a 6061-aluminum filter carousel ensures accurate, repeatable filter positioning, even during long, unattended imaging sessions. The refined mechanical design guarantees stable performance for both portable and permanent observatory setups.
Advanced Anti Light-Leak Design
The EFW-7×36-25 features a redesigned internal structure specifically engineered to block stray light from all directions. A fully enclosed motor compartment, combined with upgraded internal sealing and dual light-blocking pads at lateral connection points, significantly reduces the risk of light leaks—resulting in cleaner, more uniform calibration and imaging frames.
Smooth, Reliable Filter Switching
At its core, the filter wheel uses a high-precision stepper motor that delivers fast, quiet, and bidirectional filter rotation with precise position indexing. This ensures consistent and reliable filter changes, even during extended imaging sessions or fully automated workflows.
Simplified Power and Connectivity
Power is supplied entirely through a single USB-C connection, drawing just 120 mA at 5 V, with no external power supply required.
