Description
ZWO OAG-L Large Off-Axis Guider with 12×12mm Prism
The ZWO OAG-L (Off-Axis Guider) is designed for astrophotographers who want precise guiding at long focal lengths without the bulk of a separate guide scope. Featuring a large 12×12 mm prism, this OAG provides a wider guiding field than the M68 OAG, making it easier to find bright guide stars even with demanding setups. At just 17.5 mm thick, the OAG-L is both lightweight and sturdy. Its optical design allows you to connect a main imaging camera and a guide camera simultaneously, ensuring accurate tracking during long exposures. The included M48 sensor tilt plate (5 mm) adds flexibility to your imaging train. For best results, ZWO recommends pairing the OAG-L with large-format guide cameras to take full advantage of the expanded field of view.
Important Notes:
- Ensure the prism does not intrude into your main sensor’s field of view when assembling your optical train.
- The guiding screw allows you to adjust the focus of the guide camera. For accurate results, the distance from the prism to both the main and guide cameras must be the same. Performing this adjustment in daylight is strongly recommended.
