Description
AmScope SE306R-P20 Stereo Microscope – Built for Electronics Inspection & Precision Work
The AmScope SE306R-P20 is a compact stereo microscope designed for electronics inspection, soldering, and detailed surface observation, offering a practical balance between magnification, working space, and ease of use. With its forward-oriented head for better accessibility, it is particularly suited for users who need to work directly under the optics, such as hobbyists, students, and technicians handling delicate components.
Designed for Electronics, Inspection & Hands-On Work
This microscope is primarily optimized for electronics repair and PCB inspection, where both visibility and physical access to the sample are essential. The 40X–80X magnification range, achieved through 2X and 4X objectives combined with 20X eyepieces, provides sufficient detail to inspect solder joints, small components, and surface defects without pushing magnification to unstable or impractical levels.
The forward-oriented head design plays a key role here: by positioning the stage closer to the user, it allows comfortable manipulation of tools during soldering or assembly work. Combined with a 53 mm working distance, it ensures enough space to operate instruments without obstruction.
True Stereo Vision for Depth & Precision
As a stereo microscope, the SE306R-P20 provides true 3D perception, which is critical when working on uneven surfaces such as circuit boards, jewelry, or mechanical parts. Unlike compound microscopes, this setup allows users to clearly judge depth and positioning. The widefield eyepieces (30.5 mm tubes) and optical design deliver a broad field of view for scanning objects, clear, upright images (no inversion), and accurate color reproduction for material inspection. This makes it particularly effective for applications such as electronics and PCB work, jewelry and gemstone inspection, watchmaking and fine mechanics, as well as general industrial inspection.
Versatile Illumination for Different Sample Types
The microscope is equipped with both incident (top) and transmitted (bottom) halogen illumination, allowing it to adapt to different types of samples. Top illumination is used for opaque objects such as metals, circuits, and stones and bottom illumination enables observation of translucent samples or thin materials. This dual-light system significantly expands usability, making the microscope suitable for solid materials (metal, wood, electronics) and semi-transparent samples (thin biological specimens, plastics). The use of halogen lighting provides consistent brightness and natural color rendering, which is important for accurate inspection.
Flexible Design with Pillar Stand & Adjustable Optics
The pillar stand offers flexibility in positioning, allowing height adjustments to accommodate different object sizes. This is particularly useful when working with larger or irregular samples.
Ergonomics are also carefully considered:
- 45° inclined binocular head for comfortable viewing
- Adjustable interpupillary distance (55–75 mm)
- Diopter adjustment (±5 dp) to compensate for vision differences
These features ensure fatigue-free observation during long sessions, which is essential for both learning and professional work.
