Description
The Celestron NexStar 127SLT Computerized Telescope is a high-quality telescope that is perfect for beginners who are interested in viewing the solar system and bright deep-sky targets. The telescope features a Maksutov-Cassegrain Optical Design that provides sharp and clear views of celestial objects. The telescope’s computerized mount allows for easy alignment and tracking of celestial objects, and its database of celestial objects contains over 40,000 objects, making it easy to find and track objects of interest. The telescope’s SkyAlign Technology allows for quick and easy alignment on any three bright celestial objects.
The telescope is also portable, lightweight, and easy to transport, making it perfect for stargazing on the go. The telescope comes with two 1.25 inch Plössl eyepieces (9mm and 25mm), an accessory tray, a red dot finder, software and instruction manuals, along with the telescope tube, tripod, and mount . The MAK is a catadioptric telescope, which means the optical design includes both a lens and a mirror. The light coming through a MAK passes through the corrector lens to the primary mirror and back to a spherical secondary mirror before it hits the eyepiece. Images are bright, sharp, and virtually free of chromatic aberration. The Maksutov-Cassegrain’s optical design offers several unique benefits. Instead of a secondary mirror, the MAK features a “secondary spot” of reflective coating applied directly to the inside of the corrector plate. Because of this, the telescope does not require frequent collimation like a Schmidt-Cassegrain. Also, the secondary spot is significantly smaller than a traditional Schmidt-Cassegrain secondary mirror, giving the MAK its signature high-contrast views . The entire telescope kit is a simple, no-tool assembly and fast SkyAlign alignment procedure will have you ready to observe in minutes. This makes NexStar 127SLT your perfect companion for impromptu observing sessions and all-night stargazing marathons alike. Your NexStar 127SLT will reveal details of the lunar surface, Venus and its phases, the polar caps on Mars, Jupiter and its four moons, and Saturn with its rings plainly visible. It can also be used as a land-based spotting telescope for daytime and wildlife observations 1. The telescope comes with a bonus Starry Night Special Edition Astronomy Software download with a 36,000-object database, printable sky maps and enhanced images including 3D renderings of stars, exoplanets, and galaxies.
