New SkyGuider Pro design: Precision, Portability, and Ease of Use

The SkyGuider™ Pro is iOptron’s next-generation tracking mount, built for photographers and astrophotographers who look for portability, precision, and ease of use. After years of leading the market, this new version brings major improvements to both design and functionality.

Compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand, the SkyGuider Pro features a refined mount head with higher precision, silent tracking, a built-in rechargeable battery, and ports for autoguiding and camera control. The updated polar scope is engraved with a high-precision reticle and now includes adjustable illumination—making polar alignment fast and accurate, especially when used with the iOptron iOS app.

The included DEC bracket lets you better balance heavier cameras or lenses and even allows you to mount a lightweight telescope. For those who want even more control, the optional Go2Nova® 8408 hand controller gives access to advanced settings, tracking rate adjustments, polar alignment help, and camera shutter control.

The SkyGuider Pro supports four tracking speeds:

• 1x (sidereal) for night sky photography
• ½x for capturing both the stars and landscape
• Solar and lunar tracking rates
  These options are available for both northern and southern hemispheres. Plus, a quick slew mode lets you reframe your shot easily—forward or reverse—without disturbing your camera’s position.

iOptron has also enhanced the alt-azimuth base, now equipped with a precision bubble level, degree markings for altitude, and a built-in azimuth adjustment post. You can even detach the base and mount the SkyGuider Pro head directly to any photo tripod using standard ¼" or ⅜" threads.

This full package includes the DEC bracket with a counterweight shaft and Vixen-style dovetail saddle, making it suitable for heavier DSLR setups or even a small telescope. Whether you're into wide-field landscapes of the Milky Way or tracking deep sky objects, the SkyGuider Pro is a versatile and reliable tracking solution.
